Drosophila Hydei:
Drosophila hydei is a classic among feeder animals! The large, dark, flightless fly with its red eyes is highly productive and hatches at a temperature of 23°C after about three weeks. It is very popular with small reptiles and amphibians, such as dart frogs, young chameleons, or geckos, but small arachnids also enjoy eating this species.
A breeding culture is delivered in a 0.5-liter cup.
The breeding cultures are inoculated by us with approximately 50 animals.
Please note:
During the delivery of the packages, it may happen that the packages are transported upside down. Especially in the warm months, this can cause the mash to leak and the mesh to become sticky. In this case, please replace the mesh with a piece of nylon stocking or a sheet of kitchen paper. There will still be enough larvae in the remaining mash to ensure a large yield.
