When purchasing a new electrical or electronic device, distributors obliged to take back equipment must accept a waste device of the same type, which essentially fulfills the same functions as the new device, free of charge at the place of delivery or in the immediate vicinity. The place of delivery also includes the private household, insofar as delivery takes place there.
- b. At your request, distributors must also take back waste equipment that does not exceed 25 centimeters in any external dimension, free of charge. The take-back is not linked to the purchase of an electrical or electronic device and is limited to three waste devices per type of device.
- c. In the case of contracts concluded using distance communication means, free collection is limited to electrical and electronic equipment of categories 1 (heat exchangers), 2 (screens, monitors, and equipment containing screens with a surface area of more than 100 square centimeters), and 4 (large equipment). The return of electrical and electronic equipment of categories 3 (lamps), 5 (small equipment), and 6 (small IT and telecommunications equipment) as well as waste equipment with a dimension of up to 25 centimeters must be ensured through suitable return options within a reasonable distance.
